Election to Fellowship

Success in the Conjoint Examination does not automatically entitle a candidate to become eligible for the election to the degrees of Fellow of Hong Kong College of Family Physicians (FHKCFP) and/or Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). The Board of Conjoint Examination will recommend the successful candidates to the Councils of both Colleges for election to Fellowship. The candidates should check whether they meet the criteria for Fellowship required by the respective college(s) and apply for election to Fellowship themselves. If they fail to qualify for election to fellowship in the year at which they pass the Conjoint Examination, it is the candidate's responsibility to re-apply for election to Fellowship in subsequent year(s) after he/she has fulfilled the criteria.

The degree of FHKCFP may also enable a member of the College to be eligible for election to Fellowship of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine in Family Medicine, FHKAM (Family Medicine) only after further Higher Training in Family Medicine and evaluation of previous training experiences. Candidates wishing to obtain FHKAM (Family Medicine) should check with the relevant Handbook and apply for Higher Training with the Board of Vocational Training and Standards, HKCFP.
