FHKAM CME/CPD

For HKAM (Family Medicine) fellows, the minimum CME/CPD requirement is 90 points in a 3-year cycle with at least 15 CPD points inclusive. CME/CPD points accumulated in excess of the requirement for one cycle cannot be carried forward to the next cycle.


  • According to Point 6.1 of the “Principles and Guidelines on Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD)” of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, starting from 1 January 2008, no more than 75 points (out of the minimum 90 points CME/CPD requirement) can be awarded for passive participation in a 3-year cycle.

  • As guided by Point 6 of the “Principles and Guidelines on Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD)” of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, activities in Section 4.2 - 4.6, Sections 5.1 - 5.3 and 5.5 of the “Regulations for Award of Certificate of Quality Assurance” of The Hong Kong College of Family Physicians are classified as “Passive Participation”.
