4PHOTO GALLERYThe 38th Hong Kong College of Family Physicians Conferment Ceremony and the 35th Dr. Sun Yat Sen OrationDr. Welchie KOChairman, Internal Affairs Committee, HKCFPThe 38th Fellowship Conferment Ceremony of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians (HKCFP) and the 35thDr. Sun Yat Sen Oration were successfully held on Sunday, 13 July 2025, at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Building in Wong Chuk Hang.As one of the most important events of the College, we were honoured by the presence of government officials, representatives from universities, sister colleges from overseas, the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, and local specialty colleges who participated in celebrating the joyful success of our Conjoint Fellows and our successful candidates in the Exit Examination and Diploma in Family Medicine (DFM) on this auspicious occasion.The ceremony was officially opened by our College President, Dr. David Chao, after the introduction of the Official Platform Party made by our Public Orator, Dr. Li Yim Chu. Dr. Si%u00e2n Goodson, Chair of the Board and South Australia Faculty of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), also represented our Australian sister college to give a welcoming speech and confer the new Fellows of RACGP.This year, 27 doctors were conferred as HKCFP Fellows, and 26 doctors were conferred as RACGP International Conjoint Fellows; 31 doctors were awarded the Exit Examination Certificate. Congratulations and a warm welcome to all of them for joining our family as fellows and specialists in Family Medicine. Additionally, 22 doctors were awarded the Diploma in Family Medicine. The presentation of various awards in academic and research areas followed. The ceremony was concluded by Prof. Martin Roland, Emeritus Professor of Health Services Research at the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, University of Cambridge, UK, who delivered the inspiring 35th Dr. Sun Yat Sen Oration titled %u201cWhat are GPs for? And will they be replaced by artificial intelligence?%u201dAll of these would not have been possible without the most efficient support from our secretariats led by Ms. Erica So, especially with the contributions from Ms. Teresa Liu, Ms. Windy Lau, and Ms. Alky Yu, and a tremendous team of helpers to ensure the smooth running of the occasion. This includes the Coordinator, Dr. Edmond Chan; the Marshalling Officers, Dr. Thomas Dao, Dr. David Cheng, Dr. Christina Cheuk, and Dr. Matthew Lam; and the Ushers, Dr. Stephen Chou and Dr. Raymond Yeung.
