You are cordially invited to support the Hong Kong
College of Family Physicians¡¦ bid to host the WONCA World Conference 2027 in
Hong Kong.
The year 2027 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Hong
Kong College of Family Physicians (HKCFP). It would be our great honor to
celebrate this important milestone with the global family medicine community, as
part of our continuing effort to promote the concept of primary healthcare and
family medicine internationally and locally.
The HKCFP is a well-established and reputable organisation
that has been promoting excellence in family medicine education, training,
assessment, research, and practice since 1977. As one of the full member-organisations
of WONCA since 1978, we have extensive experience and excellent track records in
organising successful international conferences and events, including WONCA
Regional Conferences in 1987 & 2009, and WONCA World Conference in 1995. We have
every confidence that the 2027 WONCA World Conference, if held in Hong Kong,
will be another great success.
Hong Kong is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers
a rich cultural diversity, a modern infrastructure, a high-quality health care
system, and a strategic location in the heart of Asia. Through the great efforts
of the Hong Kong SAR Government, a number of major events, both in-person and
hybrid, have been brought to Hong Kong successfully despite the challenges faced
by the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) sector and the
tourism industry even during the pandemic. We would like to share some facts and
figures about Hong Kong in the enclosure. We truly believe that Hong Kong would
be an ideal ¡§next station¡¨ for hosting WONCA World Conference in 2027.
Our proposed bid for hosting the WONCA World Conference in
2027 has secured support and endorsement by various stakeholders, including the
Hong Kong SAR Government, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Academy of
Medicine, Universities etc. We sincerely hope that you will support our bid and
vote for us, and we look forward to your suggestions, comments and most
importantly, your encouragement.
