Introduction

The Hong Kong College of Family Physicians was first incorporated on 22nd July 1977 with an interim council of 15 members with Dr. Peter C.Y. Lee as the founding President. The objective of the College is to promote and develop good quality "Family Medicine" practice for the community of Hong Kong by providing facilities for training, assessment and continuing medical education in Family Medicine for Members of the College. Through the years of establishment, the College has progressed from a small association into one of the Constituent Colleges of The Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. (Development of the College) At present, the College consists of 6 Boards and 16 Committees monitored by a Board of Censors (Structure of the College) and run by 19 council members of the College. (Office Bearers) We have over 1,000 members from our various categories of Members. (Categories of Members)

The College has an official journal "The Hong Kong Practitioner" published quarterly for distribution to all members. It provides updated articles and studies on various issues related to the field of Family Medicine. The journal also provides updated information concerning the various activities of our College (Council News).
