The Begining : to producing quality doctors in Family Medicine

  • The establishment of The Hong Kong College of General Practitioners (H.K.C.G.P.)

  • The establishment of Departments of Family Medicine in both Medical Schools in Hong Kong (HKU and CU)

  • The provision of on job Family Medicine Training for inpractice doctors in Hong Kong

  • Establish full scale intensive Training programme for new Medical Graduates in Hong Kong

  • Provide Continuing Medical Education (CME) for members

The Growth : obtaining recognition of the expert status of Family Physicians

  • The establishment of an annual Fellowship examination in Family Medicine in Hong Kong

  • Recognition of the title F.H.K.C.G.P. as quotable qualification by the Medical Council of Hong Kong

  • The establishment of Joint Fellowship examination with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

  • The initiation of Quality Assurance and monitoring CME through accreditations

  • The inauguration of HKCGP as one of the Constituent Colleges of the "Hong Kong Academy of Medicine"
